RE: Sirius & XM Radio Updates

There's a petition to bring back X-Country (was on XM 12) that has been started online. Here's a link below. Please sign if you want to let XM-Sirius know how you feel: Petition to bring back X COUNTRY Do you really think they care? When I canx they really could care less...problem with everything today is the execs run it into the ground for money then ask congress to bail them out... If they didn't spend all that money on that tasteless Howard Stern or Okrah Windbag, maybe they would be in better financial shape. stock traded at 0.25/share today, maybe 0 soon. Tempted to cancel XM after eliminating X-Country

RE: How many of you bring your smokers to campgrounds?

We've smoked, briskets, pork shoulders, pork and beef ribs and turkeys. They always come out well. You must need to use very large rolling papers for those. I occasionally smoke cigars. Easier to light than turkeys. :B

RE: Spinal Depcompression? Experience anyone?

It is a scam. There is no significant double blind evidence in the medical literature that it is effective. There are several devices made by various manufacturers such as Vax-D, Accu-Spina, DRS, and DRX-9000 used by these practicioners to empty your wallet. Medicare will only pay under a traction code which in our area pays $17/ treatment. In 2006, two chiropractors were sentenced to prison for using CPT Code 64722 to improperly collect nearly $2 million from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia. Both were sentenced to serve 34 months in a federal prison. There are multiple chiropractors advertising this modality in our area. Stay clear. http://www.chirobase.org/06DD/vaxd/vaxd.html

RE: Shingles

6 months ago I broke out with shingles. The doctor gave me antibiotics. The shingles got worse. A friend of mine told me about a cure that his Grandmother used. She was from Germany. Coat the infected area with clear finger nail polish. It gives instant relief and the sores start to disappear. I used the finger nail polish and my shingles cleared up in 4 to 5 days. I had them on my neck, back, chest, and waist. Once you coat the infected area the pain all but goes away. Touch, air, or just moving hurt. antibiotics? Shingles is caused by the varicella virus that causes chicken pox. Antibiotics are effective only against bacteria not viruses. The virus is dormant in the nerve root since the initial chicken pox infection years previous. for some reason it reactivates and causes shingles late in life. this can lead to post herpetic neulagia. Anti_virals are effective if started within 72 hrs, antibiotics will have no effect.

RE: Bed tax on my bed?

Like baseball? All the areas - county/cities that host Cactus league spring training teams in AZ have such a 'bed tax' by various names. It is dedicated to building/supporting all the baseball stadiums and to nail the visirors.Tucson started it# when they built the new facility for the White Sox and Diamondbacks and will (hopefully) upgrade the Rockies home field. That tax is over and above the entertainment tax that is added to every ticket to the games. You want services/facilities - you pay for them - simple as that. Nothing like taxes going to support a private business with overpaid people playing a child's game. (But it's civic pride-- it's our team) No it's a business like Exxon or IBM. Why do I need to support them with public tax dollars. What a bunch of horse squeeze

RE: Blood Type Diet

...without getting into the whole litany of Clinical Methodology, and how clinical trials are not designed to prove anything, two things for you to consider before "dissing" Dr. D'Adamo and his so-called mythical health-food regimen: What about Weight Watchers? Although Weight Watchers is a super successful weight management system, since your sources would likely suggest that their methods are based on myth, no clinical evidence to provide "proof" that Weight Watchers works, I guess all that anecdote and the results are bull: right? CAM: As Modern Medicine evolves, new modalities are developed. One modality in particular, Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM), is a research avenue that supports Alternative medicine and its complementary role in healthy living; and, in theory CAMs have been shown to improve the efficacy of pharmaceutical medicines. Eat Right for your Type can be considered CAM, but like you say, it's all just a scam: right? Eat better, exercise more, Rev. RE: Who here takes Neurontin?

Hi Judy, From what you described, I'd look into Bud having RSD, reflex sympethic dystrophy, the 44th type of MD, MDA only studies the first 40 types of MD, effects 85% women, so RSD is pretty rare in males, but I have it. Also called sudducks disease in the Civil War era. Feels like your limb is on fire, from nerves. There's not a pain medication that will touch the pain, including morphine. Ice and ice water baths until you can't stand it. Hurt's like crazy for a couple weeks afterward but then the pain relief comes. It does beat the side effects of morphine and other drugs tho. Call your local MDA office and ask for the local RSD support chapter as there your best souce of RSD info. My PM is always open! I wouldn't give neurontin to my dog. It may help some people but it sure didn't help me. :C Huh!!! RSD or more correctly called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome has nothing in common with Muscular Dystrophy. They are completely different types of diseases. CRPS occurs for some unknown reason in certain people following an injury which may be relatively minor. CRPS is a disease of the central nervous system wheras muscular dystrophy is a group of genetically determined, painless, degenerative myopathies marked by muscular weakness and atrophy without nervous system involvement. Neurontin and a similar newer drug Lyrica are commonly used in neuropathies to control chronic pain. We don't always know the cause, these are called idiopathic neuropathies. As with anything on the internet, don't believe everything you read in these posts. Discuss your problems with a qualified medical professional.

RE: RV Drinking Water Closet!

It is estimated that about 25 percent of the bottled waters consumed in the U.S. come from municipal water supplies. Here in Southern Illinois the local Pepsi distributor bottles municipal water. People complain about $4/gal gas, but don't hesitate to pay $1 for a pint of bottled municipal water. As P T Barnum said, there is one born every minute.

RE: Camp gound memberships

Texan, Obviously, you must adhere to the terms of the contract that YOU signed. I assume that YOUR contract required you to pay dues for a specific number of years or perhaps forever. Otherwise, there would have been no grounds for them to sue you. I don't know the specifics of the contract that YOU agreed to. Perhaps reading before signing should be recommended to all who are looking at memberships. I would recommend having an attorney review any type of real estate or membership contract before you sign it.

RE: Three Reasons Why You Should Keep Your Truck

That reminds me of a funny story I saw the other day about how Segways are becoming more popular due to fuel prices. This guy paid 5000 bucks for one and was bragging about how his commute was so much cheaper now. His commute was 1.4 miles each way. So say he had a vehicle that got horrible gas mileage, like maybe an 8.1 van or something ridiculous like that that gets maybe 12 miles per gallon in town if we are feeling generous. In 2 weeks of round trip commutes he would use 2.3 gallons of gas at about 9 bucks. So it only takes 1111 weeks to pay for the Segway LOL. Thats 21 years!!!!! And thats without figuring in the cost of electricity. He was so proud. 1.4 miles ? why not just walk or ride a cheap bicycle. Much cheaper and good exercise too

RE: Severe back pain

Don't rely on medical advice from an RV forum. See your doctor if it does not improve or if your symptoms get worse.

RE: Futures Trading Commission discloses investigation

I really don't get it. Anyone can be a commodities trader. All you have to do is put up your money then sit back and rake in the money just like all the other commodities traders who you are blaming for the high cost of oil. But you don't, you sit back and complain! If you can't beat em, join em. Either that or you must be thinking way back in your mind, maybe there is more to it then that, and maybe you're blaming the wrong guy? I don't get it? If the commodities traders are making a boat load of money, why aren't you getting in on the action? Most amateurs lose money in the commodity markets

RE: Proper procedure for plugging into a 50 amp service

I always test the outlet for proper wiring and voltage before plugging in. Had an electrician recently wire a 50 and 30 amp box where I keep my RV on my farm. He miswired the 30 amp with the ground hot and the hot to ground. He thought he was wiring a 240 volt washer/dryer outlet.

RE: Downsize from Class A

Dave, your coach should be paid for by now, your costs are even less then someone starting out. License, registration, taxes and maintainence is all you have to worry about and for a 2000 Winnie(we had one, a great coach, fit like comfortable pair of snikers) those costs should be low. Other then moving to something new or newer, it's going to cost you. Divide the total cost to make the move by today's fuel cost--ruff figures $20,000 to make the move, divided by $3.75, that's 5,400 gallons of fuel. How many years will it take you to use that many gallons. Plus you still have to buy fuel at $4 + for the new unit

RE: Any success with accupuncture?

Try the acupuncture. I suggest that you go to a real acupuncturist that has passed the national acupuncture boards. Don't go to some MD or DC that has taken a few weekend hours in training. Great Advise! I disagree. There are MD's and DO's that are trained in acupuncture and integrate it with western medicine. http://www.medicalacupuncture.org/
